Want to know how to date a friend? Dating a friend is tricky, but not if you play it safe and make your friend like you back even before you pop the question. This is even more true if two friends of the opposite sex share the perfect chemistry to keep the excitement alive. Every now and then, we come across a friend we like, and the chemistry may be perfect too. But how do you go about it and pop the question without making things uncomfortable?
Have your own views, but let your friend know that you take them seriously enough to give them your undivided attention. This is a first step in creating a closer bond between both of you. Instead, just smile, open your eyes and let it sparkle! It sends the right message across without really using any words.
Flirt with your friend The two earlier tips may sound vague at first, but you do need to create the chemistry before you go a step further.
The most simple way to define dating is through a mathematical equations. A date consists of two people making plans to go out to a public place over dinner or drinks with the intent to get to know one another better not just to get laid. And yes, you can date multiple people at one time. Hooking up usually constitutes going straight to the bedroom or living room whichever you prefer without dinner or drinks beforehand in a public place.
A good friend is loyal, supportive, understanding and shares the same interests as you. Typically, these are the exact qualities that most people look for in a romantic relationship.. This makes dating a friend seem like a no brainer but like Ross and Rachel on Friends things can get complicated.
Ok, she wants you to only be friends. I think you should respect her and stop pursuing her romantically. With that wish, she also has to deal with something else. I suggest that you also do NOT remain friends with her. This is only meeting her emotional needs without getting anything in return. In other words, if you are interested in a woman romantically and settle for a friendship, you are allowing her to step all over you and use you.
What do I mean by this? I mean that you are offering her what she needs most emotional support without her having to satisfy your need that romantic connection A man should not stick around and settle for friendship if he wants more. They may not realize this, but they start feeling like they can walk all over you, demand anything, take you forgranted, basically NOT the position you want to be in. You lose respect for a man who will sit around and just be your friend when he really wants more.
She starts liking a new guy. You end up being the guy who hears about the new guy. Then you become the pushover who gets to hear about the new guy all the while wishing you were him. If you have any chance of her seeing you romantically, she has to have a chance to miss what you provided her emotionally, and you can only do this if you do not offer her friendship.
More than friends, but not dating?
I invite ladies to be a fly on the wall and listen to the words of their confusing masculine counterparts. You — an estrogen carrier — are an alien in the world of the testosterone breathers. Say nothing…just listen…at first nothing but grunts can be heard, but after a few minutes a word is understood. You are not totally sure, but you think the word was…football.
Unless you’re dating down, like that friend of mine did, you’re going to have high turnover rates among your friends with benefits – it just isn’t a relationship most women remain in for any lengthy period of time.
She is free to spend time with whomever she wants and can choose to be intimate with whomever she wants. The freedom to have alone time to counter the stress of being busy may be the reason she’s only been interested in an ambiguous relationship up to this point and not a committed one. But I also think, pursuing another relationship is even less of a priority.
Lets just play around with your options in case she is seeing someone else. But since you are in a sexual relationship, you are in a position to ask if she has any other sexual partners. This is the time to get clear on what you want. You need to decide how important she is to you. But by not showing your interest, you leave her wide open to any guy who does.
Is it the beginning or the end? At some point in the near future you might think about asking her to be in an exclusive relationship with you and pursue a greater commitment to one another. She may not be available for such a thing right now but it might give her something to think about. Relationships either begin for real or they end.
